Top looks at the Critics’ Choice Awards

Phoebe Dynevor @phoebedynevor

It was all out glam at the recent Critics’ Choice Awards in Hollywood, with styles aplenty on the red carpet.

Phoebe Dynevor had her brown locks tied back into a very loose and messy braid, with long, face-framing strands.

Janelle Monae @nikkinelms

Surely one of the most eye-catching styles of the night was seen on Janelle Monae, whose braided blonde hair was meshed with string. This look was created by stylist Nikki Nelms.

Elle Fanning’s naturally blonde long hair was draped in gentle, casual waves with a deep side-parting and hooked behind the opposite ear, while nominee Sadie Skink had long, copper-toned S-waves flowing down to below her chest.

Kerry Washington @kerrywashington

Kerry Washington had shoulder length tight curls clipped back behind the ears, with nominee Viola Davis (‘The Woman King’) sporting a similar look.

Patricia Arquette @patriciaarquette

The evergreen Julia Roberts stunned with coppery long S-waves but it was Patricia Arquette who wowed with one of the more intricate styles of the night. Her long blonde hair was curled and arranged in an up-do and twisted in an unusual way on the top and sides of the head. The stylist was Candice Birns

Milly Alcock proudly rocked a messy lob in all shades of flattering blonde, with Michelle Williams in a similar, shorter version.

Aubrey Plaza’s hair (in a brassy blonde hue) was pulled back into a fairly severe bun. Similarly, Julia Garner also opted for a tight bun, but with a centre parting and dark roots.

Anya Taylor-Joy @anyaraylorjoy

We’re so used to seeing Anya Taylor-Joy with dead straight, long loose hair that it was quite refreshing to see her blonde locks piled high on top of her head.

Claire Foy’s hair was definitely worthy of notice – a low bun with runaway tendrils around the face.
