Twincare International buys Kevin.Murphy

South African company, Twincare International, has taken over distribution of Australian professional hair care brand, Kevin.Murphy, effective 1 June.


Twincare has retained the current Kevin.Murphy sales team and will be moving the distribution of the brand to its Johannesburg warehouse. In addition, it is in the process of appointing a marketing team to help grow the brand.


Says Twincare CEO, Stav Dimitriadis: “We are very excited to add a world class brand like Kevin.Murphy to our portfolio. Over the past few months, Heather Miller and I have worked closely to ensure a smooth transition.I would like to thank Heather and her team for handing over a brand that has made such a significant impact in the South African market.”


Renowned award-winning Australian stylist, Kevin Murphy, was inspired to create his own brand while working on a shoot. “The lack of products that performed as I needed them to perform forced me to go beyond conventional hair products and look into the advancements being made with skincare. I wanted to create a range that, in the hands of a stylist, would change the characteristics of the hair and also take hair trends in new directions,” explains Murphy, who is recognised amongst his peers as a visionary in the creation of modern, hairdressing products and tools.
